Move over YouTube, video blogs and podcasting! It’s time for the next genera-
tion in user generated video content: Internet Provided TV (IPTV). With 175
million internet users watching online video content in Sept. for an average of
14.4 hours per viewer (Comscore.com), Leander is creating its own cutting edge live and on demand IPTV network. The Leander Internet Broadcast Network (LIBN-ITV) enables residents, visitors and development partners to tune in 24/7 for timely information.
Located at the City of Leander, the LIBN-ITV is accessed via the city’s web-
site at http://www.leandertx.org/libn.php. It is also drawing a growing global
audience via TVKnob.com, the IPTV channel provider. Since going on air in
April 2010 this fully functional ITV station has received more than 6,000 views.
To catch the live broadcast tune-in to LIBN-ITV on the third Friday of each
month from 10-11:00 am CST. Show content for the live broadcast includes
business and community updates, interviews with business leaders about
regional programs affecting Central Texas’ prosperity and special features.
Other periodic programming includes informative short segments about the
community’s business, real estate and municipal interests.
